After looking into various options for a post-New Year’s getaway, my husband and I have decided on Sharm el Sheikh. The temperate climate and guaranteed sunshine were the biggest factors in our decision. We were heading to NZ for a bit of an adventure but decided to do things a little bit backwards. We flew into Christchurch in the south Island and were making our way north from there. A bus tour seemed like a good option to cover a fair bit of the country, especially through the south where they would stop at most places we wanted to see. Once we arrived up in Auckland we thought we would pick up a car from car hire auckland and make our own way further north to the Bay of Islands.
