I have been going to the same place of business for the last 20 years now.  I am definitely one of the older employees here and get plenty of respect around here for it.  However, there are some new things coming in that had me scared.  That was until my boss sat down with me and told me that I was going to be one of the first ones to take the new instrumentation training.  He wants me to be able to teach all of the new guys the stuff that we are going to be getting into in the next 5 years.
