It’s always a shame when we get these beautiful white furred dogs that come into the shop with dark markings around their eyes and down the nose. Tear Staining is really easy to treat but most people don’t understand why it occurs. For most part they think it’s just part of having a dog.

Most of the time its due to allergies. Some dogs that have long hair like a Lhapso Apso, Sheep dog or Cockapoo get their hair in their eyes which can irritate and cause excessive tearing. A simple solution to this problem is as easy as keeping the hair around their face and eyes trimmed. Although I always tell the owners to come to our groomer shop to have it done properly, a quick cut isn’t hard to do unless the dog is unusually skittish.
