Much has been made of the fact that the new Sony Daily Edition reader has touch screen functionality whereas the amazon kindle reader does not. At the end of the day, I don’t think it’s a huge benefit. I can live without finger smudges on the screen that I’m trying to read on and, as a result of featuring touch screen controls, the Daily Edition has a more reflective screen which catches glare more easily than the Kindle screen does. The Kindle buttons are laid out in a very logical manner - in my opinion at least. It’s very easy to use one handed and, again speaking personally, I wouldn’t want to sacrifice a good reading experience without screen glare for touch screen controls.
